Fostering Social Impact Through Corporate Implementation of the SDGs: Transformative Mechanisms Towards Interconnectedness and Inclusiveness

Abstract The United Nations (UN) 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development has considerable potential achieving a more sustainable future. However, the concrete realisation of Goals (SDGs) is impeded by how they are implemented diverse set competent agents. This conceptual paper draws on social impact theory to investigate businesses can utilise SDG framework achieve positive outcomes. We identify two pathways that guide improve their SDGs interventions, which entail considering interconnections between goals directly or indirectly affected initiative at stake and inclusiveness actors SDGs. Building literature hybrid organising (to frame interconnectedness) multi-stakeholder partnerships deliberative governance inclusiveness), we discuss organisational mechanisms transformations help ensure interventions socially impactful.
